Ba Ria – Vung Tau Allocates 670 Billion VND for Expressway Land Clearance
The province will allocate 670 billion VND out of the total 1.333 trillion VND required for land clearance along the 19.5 km section of the Bien Hoa – Vung Tau Expressway passing through its territory.
This decision was approved at the 12th April session of the Bà Rịa – Vũng Tàu Provincial People’s Council, 7th tenure, 2021-2026.
The move follows the Prime Minister’s approval for the expressway project to be funded by the state budget. The first phase of the Biên Hòa – Vũng Tàu Expressway will span 53.7 km, featuring 4 to 6 lanes, with a total investment of 17.837 trillion VND. Construction is expected to commence early next year and be completed by 2025.
The Ministry of Transport has proposed dividing the expressway into three components. The first two segments, totaling 34.2 km, will be built in Đồng Nai with an investment of 12.647 trillion VND. The remaining section in Bà Rịa – Vũng Tàu will cost 5.190 trillion VND.
The land compensation, support, and resettlement costs for the section in Bà Rịa – Vũng Tàu are estimated at 1.333 trillion VND. Despite financial constraints due to the province’s budget allocation being reduced from 64% to 56%, the local government has committed to covering 50% of the cost using funds from the 2021-2025 mid-term public investment reserve.
Regarding land clearance efforts, Đồng Nai province recently announced plans to acquire 373 hectares of land and relocate over 2,000 households affected by the project.
